1) 형용사 : 보어 혹은 명사 수식

My father was a very well educated man. (형용사)

We have some personnels educated exactly for this task. (형용사)

The company was established in 1896. (보어)

 

2) 부사 : 과거분사구문

Prepared for the next exam, I felt much confident at the moment.

• 뭐가 어쨌다고로 시작해야 하는데 주어, 동사가 아니기 때문에 부사이다.
• 준비가 되어 있었으므로, ~때문에, ~되어 있어서, etc

They were at a loss (when) accused of felony.

• accused 고발 당해서, when accused 고발 당했을 때
• 그들은 매우 당황했었다 / 고발 당했을 때

Sarah, found to be guilty, is going to be put in jail.

• 유죄로 밝혀져서, 유죄로 밝혀졌기 때문에 (부사의 기능)

 

3) 완료시제 : have p.p / had p.p

We have known him for a couple of years.

I have never been to Africa before.

Stella had never met him before he showd up that night.
